SEIU Needs YOU to "Adopt a Block"
Your participation in this exciting, new political program called the “Adopt-A-Block” project will have an enormous impact on our ability to make Illinois and Chicago work for working families. You will join hundreds of other SEIU members who have committed to work their home precincts at election time by talking to their friends and neighbors about issues affecting working families.

As we all know, there are still far too many elected officials that do not understand how hard it is for working families to make ends meet these days.

As real income falls, we are all faced with the difficult task of paying for the skyrocketing costs of housing, healthcare, education and utilities. If we don’t fight back our children will surely have a more difficult life than we all had hoped.

The Adopt a Block program will be a lasting precinct based organization designed to maximize our ability to elect pro-worker politicians as well as organize in our communities around issues of importance to us.

As an SEIU BLOCK CAPTAIN you will be a part of the SEIU political team, receive all the political news and learn how to:

• Circulate petitions
• Register voters *
• Recruit Volunteers
• Set up “Coffees”
• "ID” and “GOTV” Voters

* Voter Registration  Registering to vote is the first step in making sure people have their voice heard. Through out the election cycle, SEIU members from across the state will be helping register voters within SEIU worksites and in targeted Congressional Districts.
